How We Work
Here is a step-by-step guide to how The Learning Box works, and what you need to do if you are interested in our workshops…
Step 1
Consider what exactly you are wanting for your child. The Learning Box offers a range of workshops to support your child through their educational journey; from confidence boosting holiday workshops, to weekly Mini Class, to meticulous exam preparation sessions.
Before we can delve into the best one for you, think about who your child is and where their strengths/areas of development are at - this will lead us to what area we can focus on.

Step 2
Talk to us. Once you have wrapped your head around which area of the curriculum your child needs support with, we would love to be part of the process that guides you to the right workshop. The more we know and understand about your child, the more we can signpost you to the most appropriate and fulfilling space.

Step 3
Book a workshop. All of our workshops have limited availability because we are committed to keeping teacher to child ratios at the optimum level for stretch and scaffold to take place. As a result, you will want to nab your spot as soon as possible to avoid missing out the opportunity!

Step 4
Let us do the work. Now you’ve gone through this process, you can sit back and let us do the work. Our teachers are highly experienced, our resources are expertly crafted and our energy is incomparable - sit back and watch your child thrive!
FAQs
-
Classes are either formed by the parent, so you would tell us that you have a group of 3/4 children that are keen and we would organise a time/day that works from there. Alternatively, you sign up individually, and we form a group when there are other children who have also signed up in that year group, and we find a time/day from there.
Generally our workshops take place between 4.30 and 5.30pm Monday - Friday, but we are open to trying to make a group work around these times.
-
None of our workshops are streamed based on ability. However, the small size means support/challenge is very child-specific, and children receive very individualised feedback and monitoring. At the end of a term or the end of a holiday workshop, parents will get a formalised feedback in terms of a report or booklet comments which outlines their child’s learning behaviours, strengths and weaknesses. We are always available to discuss areas with parents further.
-
Our reports prioritise 3 key areas:
💜 Approach to learning - which is a more holistic diagnostic of a child, outlining what values they bring to their learning
💜 Areas of strength - which highlights the areas they have succeeded in this term
💜 Areas of development - which highlights what is next in their development, guiding parents as to how to support at home
